The language J.R.R. Tolkien created for the Elves of Valinor is Quenya.
Quenya is one of Tolkien’s most developed Elvish languages. In the fictional history, it originates among the Elves who live in Valinor and is related to the language of the Vanyar and Ñoldor. After the Ñoldor return to Middle-earth, Quenya remains an important literary and ceremonial language, although Sindarin becomes more common in everyday use among many Elves.
Tolkien designed Quenya with influences from languages including Finnish, Latin, and Greek, while giving it its own vocabulary, grammar, and historical development. His interest in languages was central to the creation of Middle-earth; he often developed peoples, legends, and names around linguistic ideas.
Quenya and Sindarin are not interchangeable labels. Sindarin is another major Elvish language, associated especially with the Sindar and widely spoken in Middle-earth. Khuzdul belongs to the Dwarves, while the Black Speech was devised by Sauron.
