What landmark appears on the reverse of the 2026 United States Constitution quarter?

The story behind the answer

Independence Hall appears on the reverse of the 2026 United States Constitution quarter.

The building in Philadelphia was the meeting place of the Constitutional Convention in 1787. Delegates debated and signed the United States Constitution there, making the landmark a natural subject for the anniversary quarter.

The coin’s obverse features James Madison, who is often called the Father of the Constitution because of his major role in drafting and promoting the document. The design therefore connects a key person with the building where the convention met.

Independence Hall is sometimes confused with the Liberty Bell, which is displayed nearby in the Liberty Bell Center. Both are important Philadelphia symbols, but the Constitution quarter’s building image is Independence Hall.
