The label that appears on a changed Telegram private-chat message is “edited.” It tells readers that the original message was modified after it was sent, rather than being a new message in the conversation.
Telegram added message editing so users could correct spelling, clarify wording, or update information without deleting and reposting. In a private chat, the edited indicator is attached to the message after the change is saved. The revised text replaces the earlier display, so the label is the main visible clue that an alteration occurred.
