What kind of Na'vi body is Quaritch resurrected as in Avatar: Fire and Ash?

The story behind the answer

Quaritch is resurrected as a Na’vi recombinant in Avatar: Fire and Ash.

A recombinant is a genetically grown Na’vi body implanted with the memories of a deceased human soldier. After the original Colonel Miles Quaritch was killed by Neytiri in the first Avatar, the Resources Development Administration created a copy of his consciousness and placed it in one of these bodies. The result looks Na’vi but retains Quaritch’s memories, personality, and military mission.

This is not the same process as Jake Sully’s transformation. Jake’s consciousness was permanently transferred into his avatar body through the Tree of Souls, whereas Quaritch’s recombinant was engineered by the RDA and activated from recorded memories. The recombinant program also produced bodies for other former RDA soldiers, including Lyle Wainfleet.

The term can be confusing because “avatar” broadly describes a Na’vi body operated by a human, while “recombinant” identifies this specific resurrection technology. Quaritch therefore is not a Metkayina healer, Tulkun rider, or ordinary avatar driver; he is the RDA’s Na’vi-bodied copy of the dead colonel.
