The Just Dance 2014 mode with one lead dancer and backup dancers is On Stage.
On Stage was one of Just Dance 2014’s new presentation-focused features. In selected songs, one player takes the lead role while other players dance as backup performers, creating a setup closer to a concert performance than a standard group routine.
The mode also changed the on-screen layout. Lyrics appeared above the dancers rather than in their usual position, helping players concentrate on singing along while following the choreography. The feature was available only for songs designed to support On Stage routines, not the entire track list.
This mode is easy to confuse with the game’s other named features. Party Master lets one player direct prompts for others, AutoDance records and edits short dance clips, and Dance Battle is a competitive mode. None of those describes the lead-and-backup arrangement. On Stage specifically identifies the performance structure introduced in Just Dance 2014.
