Angela's cat whose unusual name was her husband Robert's favorite on The Office was Comstock. Angela has to give the cat away after her son Philip develops an allergy, and Oscar offers to take him.
The storyline appears in the Season 9 premiere, “New Guys.” Angela explains that Comstock is Robert Lipton's favorite cat and jokes that giving him up is the only time she has seen Robert cry besides their wedding night. Oscar's eagerness to adopt the cat carries an extra layer of sitcom irony.
At that point in the series, Oscar is secretly having an affair with Robert. By taking Comstock, Oscar gets a reason to interact with Robert while helping Angela. Comstock is one of several cats associated with Angela, alongside better-known names such as Bandit and Mr. Ash.
