The Porsche 911 GT2 RS (991) has a top speed of 340 km/h.
The figure applies to the 991.2 GT2 RS, launched in 2017 as the range-topping version of the 991-generation 911. Its 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged flat-six produced 700 PS and 750 N⋅m of torque, delivered through a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission.
The GT2 RS was unusually focused for a road car: unlike earlier GT2 models, the 991 version was offered only as an RS, and it used rear-wheel drive rather than the all-wheel-drive system of the Turbo S. Lightweight carbon-fibre body panels, a magnesium roof and extensive aerodynamic equipment helped it combine very high speed with track capability.
A common mix-up is confusing its 340 km/h top speed with acceleration figures or with the Nürburgring performance of the Manthey-equipped version. The standard 991.2 GT2 RS also became famous for recording a 6:47.25 lap in Porsche’s 2017 Nürburgring test, while later independent tests and modified versions produced different times.
