What is the title of the second film in the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy?
Answer
How to Train Your Dragon 2
The second film in the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy is titled How to Train Your Dragon 2.
Released in 2014, the film follows Hiccup and Toothless as they explore unexplored territory around Berk. Their discoveries lead to a reunion with Valka, Hiccup’s mother, and a confrontation with Drago Bludvist, who seeks to control dragons for war.
The title is deliberately simple and directly identifies the movie as the sequel to the 2010 original. The third film, released in 2019, is titled How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World.
A frequent mistake is treating The Hidden World as the second film because its title is more distinctive. In release order, however, How to Train Your Dragon 2 comes between the original film and The Hidden World.
