What is the title of the first novel in Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series?

The first novel in Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series is The Gunslinger.

The Gunslinger introduces Roland Deschain, the last gunslinger, as he pursues the Man in Black across a stark landscape. Roland’s search for the Dark Tower establishes the central quest that continues through the rest of the series.

King originally published the story in a shorter form through fantasy magazines before revising and collecting it as a novel. The book’s episodic origins help explain its distinctive structure and compressed, mythic style.

The Gunslinger was followed by The Drawing of the Three, The Waste Lands, Wizard and Glass, Wolves of the Calla, Song of Susannah, and The Dark Tower. A revised edition of the first book appeared in 2003, adding continuity links to the later series.
