What is the title of the dramatic 2022 reboot of the show?

The dramatic 2022 reboot of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is titled Bel-Air. Unlike the original sitcom, the series presents the same basic premise as a serialized drama, following Will's move from West Philadelphia to live with relatives in wealthy Bel-Air.

The project grew from a 2019 fan-made short film by Morgan Cooper, who imagined a darker and more realistic version of the sitcom. Will Smith praised the concept and later joined Cooper as an executive producer. Peacock ordered the series for two seasons in September 2020.

Bel-Air premiered in February 2022 and introduced new performers to the familiar roles, including Jabari Banks as Will, Adrian Holmes as Philip Banks, Cassandra Freeman as Vivian Banks, and Coco Jones as Hilary. It is not a continuation of the original series, and its title refers to the Banks family's affluent Los Angeles neighborhood.
