What is the title of the 2019 live-action Pokémon film starring Detective Pikachu?

The 2019 live-action Pokémon film starring Detective Pikachu is titled Pokémon Detective Pikachu.

The film is based on the 2016 Nintendo 3DS video game Detective Pikachu, rather than directly adapting the mainline role-playing games. It follows Tim Goodman, who investigates his father’s disappearance with the help of a talking Pikachu that wants to be a detective.

Rob Letterman directed the film, and Ryan Reynolds provided the voice and performance for Detective Pikachu. Justice Smith played Tim Goodman, while the story combined computer-generated Pokémon with live-action human characters and locations.

Pokémon Detective Pikachu was released in 2019 and became the first Pokémon film to use a major live-action feature format. It is distinct from the animated films, including Pokémon the First Movie and Pokémon: The Rise of Darkrai, which use fully animated presentation.
