What is the title of the 1992 prequel film to the TV series Twin Peaks?

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me is the 1992 prequel film to the Twin Peaks television series.

Directed by David Lynch, the film follows Laura Palmer during the final days of her life and depicts events immediately surrounding her murder. Because it is a prequel, its chronology comes before the main investigation shown in the television series.

The title is sometimes confused with The Missing Pieces, a collection of deleted and extended scenes from the film. It is also distinct from Twin Peaks: The Return, the 2017 television continuation.

Fire Walk with Me gives Laura much more narrative focus than the original series could while she was primarily the subject of an investigation. Its darker tone and emphasis on abuse, fear and psychological collapse make it an important, though stylistically different, part of the Twin Peaks story.
