Quinceañera is the title of the 1987 Mexican telenovela centered on Maricruz and Beatriz.
The Televisa series starred Adela Noriega as Maricruz Fernández and Thalía as Beatriz Dávalos. Its story follows the friendship and contrasting circumstances of two teenage girls, making adolescence, romance, family expectations, and social class central themes.
The series is separate from the 2006 American independent film Quinceañera. The shared title refers to the same cultural milestone, but the productions have different countries of origin, formats, casts, and plots.
The telenovela became one of the notable early television roles associated with Thalía. Mexican telenovelas are serialized dramas designed for continuing television broadcast, so this series should not be confused with a single film or with a real-life quinceañera celebration.
