What is the theme of the 2026 America250 commemorative half dollar?

The theme of the 2026 America250 commemorative half dollar is “Enduring Liberty.”

The half dollar is part of the United States Semiquincentennial coinage created for the 250th anniversary of American independence. Its design uses the Statue of Liberty on the obverse and hands passing the torch of liberty on the reverse.

The imagery emphasizes continuity: liberty is presented as a value carried from one generation to the next. That concept differs from the 2026 dime’s “Liberty over Tyranny” theme, which uses a separate design and title.

The coin belongs to the broader 1776–2026 program, which also includes redesigned circulating denominations and five quarter designs. Because several pieces use liberty-related language, the formal half-dollar theme is easy to confuse with another coin’s slogan.
