Lisa Cuddy is the surname of House M.D. character Lisa Cuddy.
Cuddy is the dean of medicine and hospital administrator at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital. She supervises Gregory House, whose unconventional methods frequently put him in conflict with hospital rules, budgets and patient-care policies.
Lisa Edelstein portrayed Cuddy for most of the series. The character is both a professional authority and one of the few people capable of challenging House on equal terms. Their relationship includes workplace tension, mutual respect and romantic complications.
Cuddy is sometimes confused with House’s diagnostic colleagues, such as Allison Cameron or Remy Hadley, known by the nickname Thirteen. Those characters work on House’s medical teams, whereas Cuddy occupies the hospital’s administrative leadership.
