The neurologist Eric on House M.D.’s diagnostic team is Dr. Eric Foreman.
Foreman is played by Omar Epps and is one of the original members of House’s diagnostic department. He is a neurologist whose clinical skills and more conventional professional instincts often place him in productive conflict with House. Foreman’s background and ambition also receive substantial attention as the series develops.
The character eventually takes on greater leadership responsibilities at Princeton-Plainsboro. He becomes Dean of Medicine after Lisa Cuddy’s departure, making him one of the few former team members to move from House’s department into senior hospital administration. Foreman’s surname is sometimes misspelled as “Forman,” but the character’s canonical spelling is Foreman.
