What is the subtitle of the main feature in Pokémon: The First Movie?

The main feature in Pokémon: The First Movie is titled Mewtwo Strikes Back. The 1998 Japanese film is also known internationally by the combined title Pokémon: The First Movie—Mewtwo Strikes Back.

Mewtwo Strikes Back follows Mewtwo, a Pokémon created through genetic experiments based on the DNA of Mew. After questioning its identity and purpose, Mewtwo invites Pokémon Trainers to a remote island, where its plan leads to a confrontation involving cloned Pokémon.

The film's extended version includes The Uncut Story of Mewtwo's Origin, a ten-minute prologue that gives more background about Mewtwo's creation. The main feature itself runs about 75 minutes, while releases also included the short Pikachu's Summer Vacation.

The subtitle is sometimes confused with The Power of One, which is the subtitle of the second Pokémon film, released in 1999. The 2019 computer-animated remake is titled Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolution, distinguishing it from the original film.
