V was born in Seo District, Daegu, South Korea, in 1995. He joined Big Hit Entertainment as a trainee and debuted with BTS in 2013 on the single album 2 Cool 4 Skool. Within the group, he is known primarily as a vocalist and is also recognized for his distinctive low vocal tone and visual style.
