The character who insists on being called “The Maestro” is really named Bob Cobb.
Bob Cobb appears in “The Maestro,” the 113th episode of Seinfeld and the third episode of season 7. Mark Metcalf plays the character, who dates Elaine and demands that everyone address him by his grandiose self-appointed title rather than his ordinary name.
Jerry is particularly skeptical of the Maestro’s claims, including his insistence that no houses are available for rent anywhere in Tuscany. That dispute eventually leads Jerry to investigate the claim and rent a house near the Maestro and Elaine. The episode’s central joke is the contrast between Cobb’s inflated self-image and the mundane name he is trying to hide.
Bob Cobb is not Lloyd Braun, Todd Gack, or Joe Mayo—those are separate Seinfeld characters. “The Maestro” is also notable for introducing Jackie Chiles, Kramer’s flamboyant attorney, who represents him in the coffee-burn lawsuit against Java World.
