What is the quinceañera’s formal entrance usually called in Spanish?

The story behind the answer

The quinceañera’s formal entrance is commonly called la entrada in Spanish.

La entrada means “the entrance” and describes the celebrant’s arrival or presentation at the reception. Depending on the family and region, she may enter with her court, parents, or other important relatives. Music, announcements, and a choreographed procession can make this moment one of the evening’s formal highlights.

The exact program is not standardized. Some families hold a church service first and then make the entrance at a banquet hall; others celebrate in one location or omit a formal procession. Spanish-language event planners may use additional local terms for particular parts of the program.

La entrada should not be confused with la salida, which means the departure. Nor is it the name of the entire celebration: quinceañera or fiesta de quince años refers to the broader occasion.
