What is the primary type of video Taylor Swift released for “august”?

Taylor Swift released an official lyric video for “august.”

The song does not have a conventional narrative music video listed alongside its release. Instead, its official visual presentation centers on lyrics and atmosphere, allowing listeners to follow the words while the track’s hazy, late-summer mood plays underneath.

That distinction matters because Folklore was a highly visual album even when individual songs did not receive traditional videos. Swift’s lyric videos and album imagery helped establish the record’s woods, cabins, and nostalgic storytelling aesthetic without requiring a separate plot-driven production for every track.

The song’s later annual August trend has also generated many unofficial fan videos and social-media edits. Those fan-made clips should not be confused with Swift’s official lyric video. An official lyric video is the specific release type associated with “august.”
