What is the orbital period of Saturn’s moon Pandora, approximately?

The story behind the answer

Saturn’s moon Pandora has an orbital period of approximately 15 hours.

Pandora travels around Saturn just beyond the planet’s F ring. Its short orbital period results from its close distance to Saturn: moons nearer a massive planet complete their orbits more quickly than distant moons. Pandora’s orbit is also slightly eccentric and inclined rather than a perfectly circular path.

Pandora’s orbit matters because it participates in the gravitational shaping of the F ring. Together with Prometheus, it helps influence the ring’s narrow, braided, and sometimes changing structure. The two moons are often described as shepherd satellites because their gravity affects the distribution of ring particles.

The period is sometimes mistaken for the much longer orbital periods of Saturn’s large outer moons. Titan, for example, takes nearly 16 Earth days to orbit Saturn, whereas Pandora completes an orbit in well under one Earth day.
