What is the only surviving structure among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World?

The story behind the answer

The Great Pyramid of Giza is the only surviving structure among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Built in Egypt during the reign of Pharaoh Khufu, the Great Pyramid was completed around 2560 BCE. It originally stood about 146.6 metres high and remained the tallest human-made structure in the world for thousands of years. Erosion and the loss of its outer casing reduced its present height to roughly 139 metres.

The pyramid formed part of a large funerary complex on the Giza plateau. Builders used millions of stone blocks, including massive limestone and granite elements. Its exact construction methods remain debated in detail, but archaeological evidence shows an organized workforce, planning, transport systems, and specialized labor.

The other ancient wonders were destroyed by earthquakes, fire, war, or gradual decay, although some details about them remain uncertain. The Great Pyramid’s survival makes it the sole ancient wonder still substantially standing today.
