What is the official name of the federal commission organizing America250?

The federal commission organizing America250 is the United States Semiquincentennial Commission.

Congress created the commission through the United States Semiquincentennial Commission Act of 2016. Its role is to plan and coordinate observances for the 250th anniversary of American independence, while working with federal agencies, states, communities, and private partners.

The commission is often identified publicly through the America250 brand, but America250 is not the commission's full legal name. The commission also works with the America250 Foundation and the American Battlefield Trust, which serves as its administrative secretariat. This arrangement distinguishes the official congressional body from the broader public-facing celebration.
