What is the nickname for the red ghost Blinky when he enters fast mode?

The red ghost Blinky is nicknamed Cruise Elroy when he enters his fast mode. This behavior begins late in a maze, as Pac-Man clears dots and only a limited number remain. Blinky then speeds up and continues pursuing Pac-Man more aggressively, even during periods when ghosts would normally scatter.

Cruise Elroy is not a separate ghost or a power-up. It is a gameplay state for Blinky, whose standard role is to chase Pac-Man directly. The nickname is commonly associated with the idea of a fast, relentless Blinky; “Elroy” is generally understood as a reference to Elroy Jetson from The Jetsons.

The timing thresholds vary by level, and the mode can progress through two stages as fewer dots remain. This is why Blinky may become noticeably faster near the end of a maze even when no power pellet is active. Shadow is Blinky's official Japanese nickname, while Pokey and Speedy belong to other ghosts.
