YouTube’s feature for scheduling video premieres is called Premieres.
A Premiere lets a creator schedule a prerecorded video to become available at a specific time while viewers watch together in real time. Before the start, YouTube creates a public watch page where viewers can set reminders, comment, and use live chat.
When the scheduled time arrives, a countdown plays before the video begins. Viewers can watch the prerecorded content together and interact with the creator and other viewers, creating an event-like experience without requiring the creator to broadcast live footage.
Premieres are different from ordinary scheduled publishing. A normal scheduled upload simply becomes public at the chosen time, while a Premiere adds the shared viewing page, countdown, reminders, and chat. After the event ends, the video remains on the channel as a regular upload, and chat replay may remain available. YouTube introduced the feature in 2018.
