The white bird that drops explosive eggs in Angry Birds is Matilda.
Matilda is the series’ white bird and uses a distinctive aerial attack. When activated, she releases an egg-shaped explosive projectile downward, while her body shoots upward, often letting players redirect her into another part of the structure. This makes her useful for hitting pigs or weak points beneath her flight path.
Her ability is based on the behavior of a bird laying an egg, but the projectile is exaggerated for the game's cartoon physics. Matilda’s white coloring and egg attack make her one of the easiest birds to identify, although her upward rebound can be overlooked by new players. Timing matters: tapping too early or too late can send her body away from the intended target.
Matilda is not the same as Stella, the pink bird who creates bubbles, or Silver, the gray bird who performs a looping somersault attack. Willow is also not one of the standard classic birds in the original game's core roster. Matilda first appeared in the original Angry Birds, released in 2009.
