The mystery becomes more dangerous when the gang is transported into Eric’s game. To escape, Scooby, Shaggy, Fred, Daphne, and Velma must complete the game’s levels and find a box of Scooby Snacks. They also encounter digital versions of themselves, creating one of the film’s central visual and narrative ideas.

The Phantom Virus is not an independent supernatural creature. The ending reveals that Bill created it because he was jealous that Eric’s game had been selected for a science fair. The gang’s evidence exposes Bill, while the digital Phantom Virus is ultimately deleted. “The Virus,” “The Glitch,” and “The Cyber Ghost” capture parts of the concept but are not the character’s official name.
