What is the name of the signature burger at Wendy's?

The story behind the answer

The signature burger at Wendy’s is Dave’s Single.

The sandwich is named for Wendy’s founder, Dave Thomas, who opened the first restaurant in Columbus, Ohio, in 1969. It is the single-patty member of Wendy’s Dave’s burger lineup, alongside the Dave’s Double and Dave’s Triple.

Wendy’s introduced the Dave’s Hot ’N Juicy cheeseburger line in 2011 after more than two years of development. The launch refreshed the chain’s long-running single, double, and triple burgers with revised beef, buns, and toppings. The branding later settled into the familiar Dave’s Single name.

A common mix-up is confusing Dave’s Single with the Baconator. The Baconator is another major Wendy’s burger, but it is a bacon-focused specialty sandwich rather than the standard signature single-patty burger. Wendy’s also uses square patties, a visual feature that distinguishes its classic burgers from many competitors’ round patties.
