The short film that accompanied The Incredibles in theaters was Boundin'.
Boundin' is a 2003 Pixar animated short written, directed, narrated, and scored by Bud Luckey. It tells the story of a cheerful lamb whose confidence collapses after he is sheared and mocked for his bare appearance. A jackalope teaches him the value of “bounding”—recovering after a setback rather than letting appearances define him.
The short was paired theatrically with The Incredibles, which premiered in 2004, making it part of Pixar’s long-running tradition of presenting original shorts before its feature films. It is sometimes confused with Geri’s Game, For the Birds, or Presto, but those shorts were paired with different Pixar releases: Geri’s Game with A Bug’s Life, For the Birds with Monsters, Inc., and Presto with WALL-E.
Boundin' also earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Short Film at the 76th Academy Awards. Its unusual musical narration and western-inspired visual style helped distinguish it from Pixar’s earlier, largely dialogue-free shorts.
