What is the name of the record carried by Voyager spacecraft?

The story behind the answer

What is the name of the record carried by Voyager spacecraft? The answer is the Voyager Golden Record.

Its formal title is the Voyager Golden Record, also called the Voyager Interstellar Record. NASA placed a copy aboard both Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 in 1977 as a time capsule and symbolic greeting to any extraterrestrial civilization that might find either spacecraft.

The record contains 116 images, natural sounds, human sounds, music from different cultures and eras, greetings in 55 languages, and printed messages from U.S. President Jimmy Carter and U.N. Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim. A committee chaired by Carl Sagan selected and organized the material, with major contributions from Ann Druyan, Timothy Ferris, Frank Drake, and others.

The record is made of gold-plated copper and includes a cartridge and a stylus for playback. Its cover carries instructions based on scientific symbols, including the hydrogen transition and a pulsar map. It is distinct from the Pioneer plaque, which was a metal engraving sent on Pioneer 10 and Pioneer 11.
