What is the name of the reconstructed Viking ship that sailed from Denmark to Dublin in 2007?

The story behind the answer

The reconstructed Viking ship that sailed from Denmark to Dublin in 2007 is the Sea Stallion from Glendalough.

The Sea Stallion is a full-scale reconstruction of Skuldelev 2, a large Viking warship built in the Dublin area around 1042. The original vessel was one of five ships found in the Skuldelev ship barrier in Roskilde Fjord, Denmark. The reconstruction was built at the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde and launched in 2004.

In 2007, the ship and its crew sailed from Roskilde to Dublin, retracing the broad route associated with the original ship. The voyage covered roughly 1,600 kilometres and demonstrated how a Viking crew could have used a large, open wooden vessel for long-distance travel.

The ship’s name refers to Glendalough in Ireland, where the original timber was felled. Sea Stallion is not the Oseberg ship, which is a different Norwegian burial vessel, nor Draken Harald Hårfagre, a modern reconstruction of another longship design.
