What is the name of the protagonist in the Pandora Hearts manga?

Oz Vessalius is the protagonist of the Pandora Hearts manga.

Created by Jun Mochizuki, Pandora Hearts follows Oz Vessalius, the heir to a powerful noble family. During his coming-of-age ceremony, Oz is condemned to the Abyss, a mysterious dimension, because of a crime whose meaning he does not understand.

Oz later forms a contract with Alice, a powerful entity known as the B-Rabbit. Together, they investigate the mysteries of the Abyss, the Tragedy of Sablier, and the organization called Pandora. The story combines fantasy, adventure, mystery, and characters inspired partly by Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

Other important characters include Gilbert Nightray, Oz’s loyal servant, and Xerxes Break, a member of Pandora. They are prominent figures, but neither is the central protagonist. The title Pandora Hearts refers to the organization and the series’ wider mythology rather than to Oz’s name.
