What is the name of the pink ghost?

The story behind the answer

The pink ghost in Pac-Man is Pinky. She is one of the four original ghosts, alongside Blinky, Inky, and Clyde, who first appeared in Namco’s 1980 arcade game.

Pinky’s role is more than a color label. Her programmed behavior attempts to ambush Pac-Man by targeting a position ahead of him, making her especially dangerous when Pac-Man is moving through corridors. This distinctive pursuit style helped give each ghost a recognizable personality and strategy.

The ghosts were originally designed to be colorful and approachable rather than identical enemies. Their names also reflect their character traits: Blinky is the direct chaser, Inky uses a more complex targeting method, Pinky tries to get ahead of Pac-Man, and Clyde alternates between chasing and retreating. A common mix-up is confusing Pinky with Inky, since both are associated with positioning themselves in front of Pac-Man. Pinky is the pink ghost; Inky is cyan or blue.
