What is the name of the Philadelphia chicken wing eating competition?

The story behind the answer

The Philadelphia chicken wing eating competition was called Wing Bowl. It was an annual Buffalo-wing eating contest created by Philadelphia sports-radio personalities Al Morganti and Angelo Cataldi.

The first Wing Bowl took place in 1993 as a promotional event for WIP radio, initially drawing only a small crowd. It grew into a large Philadelphia spectacle traditionally held on the Friday before the Super Bowl. From 2000 onward, it was held at the Wells Fargo Center, formerly known as the First Union Center and Wachovia Center, and attracted crowds exceeding 20,000.

Wing Bowl mixed competitive eating with radio entertainment, qualifying stunts, celebrity appearances, and a women’s contest known as the Wingettes. The event ended after Wing Bowl XXVI in 2018. Molly Schuyler won that final Philadelphia edition after eating a reported 501 wings in 30 minutes.
