What is the name of the outcast Tulkun bonded with Lo'ak?

The story behind the answer

The outcast Tulkun bonded with Lo'ak is named Payakan.

Payakan is a highly intelligent, whale-like Tulkun introduced in Avatar: The Way of Water. He is treated as an outcast by other Tulkun because he participated in violent resistance against human hunters. Tulkun culture generally rejects violence, even when its members are threatened, so Payakan’s actions make him a controversial and isolated figure among his own kind.

Lo'ak, Jake and Neytiri’s second son, discovers that he shares Payakan’s sense of being misunderstood. Their relationship becomes one of the emotional centers of The Way of Water: Lo'ak protects Payakan, and Payakan helps Lo'ak during the conflict with the human whaling operation. Their bond is often described as a spiritual or brother-like connection rather than ordinary animal companionship.

Payakan is easy to confuse with Aonung, a young Metkayina hunter; Ta'nok, a different Pandora-related name; or Toruk, the giant flying predator associated with Na’vi history. Payakan returns in Fire and Ash, where his past exile and his relationship with Lo'ak continue to influence the story.
