What is the name of the Mystery Inc. van?

The Mystery Inc. van is called the Mystery Machine.

It is one of the most recognizable vehicles in animation: a brightly painted van decorated with flower-power imagery, bold lettering, and a distinctive blue-and-green color scheme. The gang uses it to travel from one supposedly supernatural case to another.

The van is more than transportation. Its distinctive appearance helps establish the series’ late-1960s counterculture-inspired style, while its interior often becomes a mobile headquarters for planning investigations, hiding from villains, or transporting captured suspects. Different Scooby-Doo series, films, and timelines have shown revised versions of the vehicle, but the name has remained the same.

A common mix-up is calling it the “Scooby Van” or “Mystery Van.” Those descriptions are understandable nicknames, but the canonical franchise name is the Mystery Machine. The gang itself is usually identified as Mystery Inc., while the van carries its own separate name.
