What is the name of the MotoGP event held at the Jerez circuit?

The story behind the answer

The MotoGP event held at the Jerez circuit is the Spanish Grand Prix.

The race takes place at Circuito de Jerez–Ángel Nieto, near Jerez de la Frontera in Andalusia. Jerez became a regular stop on the motorcycle Grand Prix calendar in 1987, and its compact layout, enthusiastic crowds and frequent close racing have made it one of MotoGP’s best-known venues.

The event is officially the Spanish motorcycle Grand Prix, although commercial naming can add a sponsor or alter the precise title used in broadcasts. That naming variation does not make it the Catalan, Aragon or Valencia Grand Prix: those are separate Spanish events held in different regions and associated with different circuits.

Jerez has hosted the Spanish Grand Prix for most seasons since 1987, with interruptions and calendar changes over time. The venue is also famous for its corner names, including the sweeping final turn named after Jorge Lorenzo and the fast final-sector sequence that challenges riders’ braking and tyre management.
