What is the name of the mode where two players team up?

The story behind the answer

The Apex Legends mode where two players team up is called Duos. In Duos, each squad consists of two Legends instead of the three-player teams used in the standard Trios battle royale format.

Duos changes the rhythm of a match because every squad has fewer teammates available for revives, scouting, combat, and communication. Players often need to make quicker decisions and coordinate more closely with their partner. The mode still uses the familiar battle royale structure: squads loot equipment, survive the closing Ring, and fight to become the last team standing.

Duos was first introduced as a limited-time mode in October 2019 before becoming part of Apex Legends’ broader rotation of playable modes. It is commonly confused with Arenas, which is a round-based 3v3 combat mode, or Solo, where players fight without a teammate. Trios, by contrast, uses three-player squads.
