What is the name of the magical ring that Odin placed on Baldr's funeral pyre?

The story behind the answer

Draupnir is the magical ring that Odin placed on Baldr’s funeral pyre. The ring belonged to Odin and was one of the extraordinary treasures produced by dwarven craftsmen in Norse mythology.

Draupnir’s name is commonly interpreted as “the dripper,” referring to its supernatural ability. Every ninth night, eight new gold rings were said to drip from it. Each duplicate matched the original in size and weight, making Draupnir a symbol of inexhaustible wealth and divine power.

The ring was forged by the dwarf brothers Brokkr and Eitri, also called Sindri in some traditions. Its creation was part of a contest provoked by Loki, who wagered that the dwarves could not produce better treasures than the Sons of Ivaldi. The same series of events produced Mjölnir, Thor’s hammer, and Gullinbursti, Freyr’s golden boar.

After Baldr was killed, Odin placed Draupnir on the god’s funeral ship, Hringhorni. Hermóðr later retrieved it from the pyre and carried it back, while Baldr’s death became one of the great tragedies leading toward Ragnarök.
