What is the name of the hotel owned by Benjamin Horne in Twin Peaks?

The story behind the answer

Benjamin Horne owns the Great Northern Hotel in Twin Peaks.

The hotel is one of the fictional town’s most important gathering places. FBI agent Dale Cooper stays there while investigating Laura Palmer’s murder, and many major characters work, meet, or conduct business there. Its luxurious image contrasts with the corruption and supernatural events connected to the town.

The Great Northern’s exterior was represented by the Salish Lodge in Snoqualmie, Washington. That location is also associated with the waterfall used prominently in Twin Peaks’ opening imagery. The show used several real Washington locations to create its distinctive Pacific Northwest setting.

Benjamin Horne, played by Richard Beymer, is a wealthy businessman whose enterprises and schemes make him one of the story’s central local figures. The hotel should not be confused with the Double R Diner, which is owned by Norma Jennings and serves as another major community meeting place.
