What is the name of the hospital where most of House M.D.’s medical cases take place?

The story behind the answer

Most of House M.D.’s medical cases take place at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital.

The fictional New Jersey teaching hospital employs Gregory House, James Wilson, Lisa Cuddy, and the rotating members of House’s diagnostic team. Its teaching-hospital setting allows the story to include specialists, trainees, laboratories, emergency cases, and complex consultations.

Princeton-Plainsboro is not a real hospital. Exterior shots for the series used the main administration building of Princeton University, known as Frist Campus Center, while other locations and sets represented the hospital’s interior spaces. This visual choice helped give the show a distinctive academic-medical atmosphere.

Viewers sometimes shorten the name to “Princeton-Plainsboro,” but the full canonical name includes “Teaching Hospital.” It should also not be confused with real hospitals in Princeton or with the fictional hospitals featured in other medical dramas.
