Shaggy and Scooby discover the armor in an abandoned pickup truck and bring it to a museum, where the knight appears to come alive under the light of a full moon. The gang investigates the disappearance of Professor Hyde White and the strange activity surrounding the museum.

As in many early Scooby-Doo mysteries, the supernatural explanation is a disguise. The Black Knight is ultimately revealed to be Mr. Wickles, who uses the costume to conceal an art-forgery scheme involving stolen paintings and convincing replacements.
