What is the name of the fictional world where most of C.S. Lewis’s Chronicles are set?

The story behind the answer

Narnia is the fictional world where most of C.S. Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia are set. It is a realm populated by talking animals, mythical creatures, humans, and powerful magical forces.

The seven-book series includes stories set at different points in Narnian history. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe introduces readers to Narnia through a wardrobe discovered by four children in an English country house. Other books explain the world’s creation, its rulers, and its final transformation.

Narnia is not the same as Middle-earth, J.R.R. Tolkien’s setting, although the two authors were friends and members of Oxford’s Inklings literary group. Malacandra belongs instead to Lewis’s Space Trilogy.
