What is the name of the feature that allows sharing real-time location?

Telegram's feature for sharing a user's changing position in real time is called Live Location. It lets people in a chat follow movement on a map instead of receiving only one fixed location point.

Telegram announced Live Locations with version 4.4 in October 2017. The feature was designed for practical coordination: someone walking to an appointment, meeting friends at a crowded event, or letting others see progress toward a destination. A user chooses a sharing duration, and Telegram updates the location during that period.

Live Location is different from sending a normal location. A standard location is a snapshot of where the person was at the moment of sending. Live Location continues updating, and Telegram can display multiple participants together on an interactive map when several people share their positions in the same group.

The feature can also be stopped manually before its selected duration ends. “Location Chat,” “Real-Time GPS,” and “Share Location” describe the idea loosely, but Live Location is Telegram's canonical feature name.
