Djimon Hounsou plays the dragon hunter Drago Bludvist in How to Train Your Dragon 2.
Drago is the film’s principal human antagonist. He seeks to control dragons and build an army, using fear and a powerful Bewilderbeast to dominate other dragons. His campaign brings him into conflict with Hiccup, Stoick, Valka, and the dragons living near Berk.
The character’s threat is different from the more personal danger faced in the first film. Instead of treating dragons as animals to be defeated one at a time, Drago aims to control entire groups through intimidation and the dragons’ own hierarchy.
Drago is sometimes confused with Grimmel the Grisly, who is the principal villain of The Hidden World, or Eret, who begins as a dragon trapper before changing sides. Hounsou’s role is specifically Drago Bludvist in the second animated film.
