What is the name of the cave where the magic lamp is hidden in Aladdin?
Answer
Cave of Wonders
Answer
Cave of Wonders
The cave where the magic lamp is hidden in Aladdin is the Cave of Wonders.
In Disney's 1992 animated film, Jafar seeks the lamp because it contains the powerful Genie. He learns that only a person described as a “diamond in the rough” can enter the cave safely, and manipulates Aladdin into retrieving it. Aladdin enters with Abu and finds the lamp alongside a magical flying carpet.
The cave is guarded by a huge, tiger-headed entity that warns Aladdin not to touch the treasure. Abu ignores the warning by grabbing a jewel, causing the cave to collapse and trapping Aladdin, Abu, and the carpet inside. Abu secretly keeps the lamp, allowing Aladdin to summon the Genie and escape.
A common mix-up is confusing this film location with the cave in the older Aladdin folktale. The original story also features a magical cave, but Disney's named location and its distinctive guardian are inventions or adaptations specific to the film. The 2019 live-action remake retains the Cave of Wonders but gives its entrance a different visual design.
