What is the name of the boy killed by a car in Pet Sematary?
Answer
Gage Creed
Answer
Gage Creed
The boy killed by a car in Pet Sematary is Gage Creed.
Gage is the two-year-old son of Louis and Rachel Creed and the younger brother of Ellie. While playing outside near the family’s home in Ludlow, Maine, he chases a kite toward a busy highway and is struck by a speeding tanker truck. His death becomes the novel’s emotional and supernatural turning point.
Grieving father Louis is shown an ancient burial ground beyond the pet cemetery by his neighbor, Jud Crandall. Louis buries Gage there, and the child returns possessed by the Wendigo’s malevolent influence. The resurrected Gage becomes the story’s principal antagonist, murdering Jud and Rachel before Louis stops him.
Gage’s death is sometimes confused with the fate of Ellie because the 2019 film remake changes the original story: in that version, Ellie is killed and resurrected instead. The 1989 film follows the novel more closely by making Gage the child killed by the truck. King drew part of the idea from an incident involving his son, who nearly ran into a road while flying a kite.
