What is the name of the boar that is eaten each night in Valhalla?

The story behind the answer

The boar eaten each night in Valhalla is Sæhrímnir.

In Norse mythology, Sæhrímnir is slaughtered and cooked every evening to feed the einherjar—the warriors who died in battle and were chosen to dwell in Odin’s hall. The Prose Edda says that the cook Andhrímnir prepares the boar in the cauldron Eldhrímnir.

The remarkable part is that Sæhrímnir is restored after the feast, allowing the same animal to provide food again the following day. This reflects Valhalla’s endless cycle of battle, death, feasting, and renewal: the warriors fight during the day, then return to dine together.

Sæhrímnir is easily confused with other famous Norse boars. Gullinbursti is Freyr’s golden-bristled boar and mount, while Hildisvíni is associated with Freyja. Tanngrisnir, by contrast, is one of Thor’s goats. None of those animals is the recurring meal in Valhalla.
