What is the name of the actress who voices Mrs. Puff?

The actress who voices Mrs. Puff is Mary Jo Catlett.

Mrs. Puff is SpongeBob’s boating-school instructor, an anthropomorphic pufferfish whose lessons repeatedly become chaotic because SpongeBob cannot pass his boating test. Mary Jo Catlett has provided the character’s English voice since the series began, making Mrs. Puff her best-known animation role.

Catlett was already an experienced stage and television performer before joining SpongeBob SquarePants. She originated the role of Ernestina in the 1964 Broadway production of Hello, Dolly! and later appeared as Pearl Gallagher, the third housekeeper on Diff’rent Strokes. Series creator Stephen Hillenburg specifically sought her for Mrs. Puff after seeing her work on stage.

Her performance is sometimes confused with the voices of other major female characters. Carolyn Lawrence voices Sandy Cheeks, Lori Alan voices Pearl Krabs, and Sirena Irwin has voiced various SpongeBob characters in additional productions. Catlett’s role as Mrs. Puff is the canonical English-series casting.
